Pennsylvania has recently moved away from AlertPA to Code Red to provide our citizens and partners with timely information to assist them in making informed decisions. Code Red delivers emergency and weather alerts, health notifications, building alerts and updates to steer, guide and warn you on all your devices: Email account (work, home, other), Cell phone (via SMS), Pager, Smartphone/PDA

Emergency preparedness guidance from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, lists and explains specific threats and response.

Downloadable materials, including home and car emergency kit checklists and emergency plan templates, are available at and also through 1-888-9-READYPA. Citizens can find information about getting involved in local emergency response efforts and other volunteer opportunities through the Web site or the toll-free

The American Red Cross, through its strong network of volunteers, donors and partners, is always there in times of need. We aspire to turn compassion into action so that all people affected by disaster across the country and around the world receive care, shelter and hope.
